2017 Audi S4 remains a top choice for most people shopping for a luxury sport sedan due to its understated styling, refined styling, nimble driving dynamics, accommodating backseat, a strong and boffo supercharged V6, and a standard all-wheel drive. Read on for a comprehensive S4 review detailing its engine specs, exterior and interior designs, trims, and expected release date.
When you inject an extra dose of spirited and fun-driving to the regular Audi A4 the result you get is the 2017 Audi S4. The extra dose comes in form of the solid 333-hp that gets routed to the all-time AWD via the dual-clutch automated manual transmission system. And for sharp steering and handling, Audi makes available a sport-tuned suspension, and upgraded brakes among other performance upgrades.
To say the Audi S4 is well-appointed and feature-laden will be tantamount to an understatement. It isn’t just any other Audi that, by default, should come with proper interior materials and technologies. This is a divine luxury vehicle that comes chock full of any desirable luxury amenities you could think of.
If there is any fault in the S4, that could be in terms of the unintuitive base MMI control layout, a missing USB port, and surprisingly, missing Bluetooth audio for the base model. Although the S4 is better off than any of its competitors on a wide variety of areas, the downsides mentioned above could be a bitter pill to swallow for some buyers.
As such, you can consider any of these rivals. BMW’s own 2017 340i, for instance, is almost faultless and strikes a balance between comfort and performance. The same could be true for both the 2017 Cadillac ATS and the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C400 4Matic. Even so, we are still of the opinion that the 2017 Audi S4 is an appealing choice for entry-level would-be luxury sedan owners.

2017 Audi S4 Engine Specs
Beneath the bonnet of the 2017 Audi S4 is a supercharged 3.0L V6 engine. Depending on your choice of transmission (standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional seven-speed automated manual), the power – 333 horsepower and 325 lbs. ft. of torque gets transferred to the standard all-wheel drive.
The torque is distributed between the rear wheels in a matter of milliseconds by the available sport differential which enhances the at-the-limit handling. This improves the S4 cornering line.
A time of 4.9 seconds is all one requires to zoom the S4 past 60 mph, that’s at least according to Car and Driver. You can get better acceleration with both the C400 and the 340i. With the automated manual system, expect a 0-60 mph acceleration in a swift 4.5 seconds.
According to credible reports, the manual returns 26/17/20 mpg on the highway/city/combined, and 28/18/21 mpg with the S tronic.
