With a sporty handling, a zesty performance, peppy and fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, a well-appointed and crisp interior, and advanced technology options, the new 2017 Ford Fiesta is undoubtedly a pleasant everyday companion. However, its unrefined automatic transmission and modest interior space are also some factors to consider. The Fiesta release date should be expected sometime in the second half of 2017.
For starters, the Fiesta is a reminder of just how far Ford has come over the past ten years or so. Ford had a reputation of offering the best small cars to the European markets and reserving the left overs for the Americans. As a matter of fact, the Fiesta only hit our shores five years ago, and we ultimately got to experience fuel efficiency, fun to drive character, and interior refinement.
Ever since, the Fiesta has perennially ranked atop our list of favorites thanks to its nimble handling, fuel economy, lots of equipment, and peppy performance. With these and more features available, the Fiesta now joins the same ranks as its sibling – 2017 Ford Focus.
True, the Fiesta has been in the market for quite some time, and you can’t completely hide the fact that its grey areas are starting to show. Nonetheless, Ford has done a commendable job in offering it continuous upgrades meant to keep it afresh in its segment. For instance, the new model offers the easy-to-use Sync 3 infotainment system that fits in as a replacement for the much critiqued MyFord Touch system.
Much hype about the new system is perhaps its ability to respond to commands through pinch and swipe just like a smartphone. Other new features include Sync voice commands, USB connectivity, and Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity – rare features in the ultra-affordable subcompact segment.
One notable feature that we’ve always loved about the Fiesta is its handling on the road. Once you’re behind the wheels, you’ll notice the Fiesta is unmistakably blessed with a nimble feel, and responsive steering. Of course, opting for the 2017 Ford Fiesta ST model gets you even more fun-features.
Much can be said about the new 2017 Ford Fiesta but the bottom line remains it is a certainly a very good choice in this segment, conceding little to Father Time as its impressive run continues. This little Ford is a hoot to drive even if you’re just zipping to the supermarket and back. Some of its arch rivals in the segment include the 2017 Kia Rio, 2017 Chevrolet Sonic, and the 2017 Hyundai Accent.

When we come to the fuel economy, expect those with the automatic transmission system to return 27/37/31 mpg in the city/highway/combined.
