Although the stylish 2018 Audi A5 has a lot of appeal for a luxury two-door, it suffers from mediocre safety features and flimsy technologies. But even so, the new A5 is still a compelling choice for anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable door-door coupe. Some of its highlights for 2018 include a classy cabin styling, a standard all-wheel drive system, a beautifully-trimmed cabin, and a confident handling. Its release date should be expected sometime in the first half of next year.
The new A5 is a prudent and practical choice for anyone looking for a well-tuned suspension, a sexy exterior, a wide range of comfort, and a high-quality cabin – attributes that have for a very long time been the perfect definition of what an A5 is all about. Audi consistently earns high marks for its classy cabins, and the new model isn’t an exception. It isn’t too flashy but still manages to be handsome in every angle you try to see it from.
The look is further complemented by the excellent workmanship and high-quality interior materials provided inside the cabin. Basic controls and gauges are easy to use, however, the MMI system can be a bit cumbersome. The menus are simplified, the display larger, and the control knob more ergonomic.
The seats are comfortable and supportive and are appealing even for long drives, although a more premium feel can always be ordered for an extra. All is not perfect, however. Some of the cons include an unremarkable acceleration, an awkward control layout, and lack of latest safety features.
Attractive competitors available on the segment include the BMW 2 Series, the Audi TT, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe, and 2018 Cadillac ATS coupe.
