The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is a luxury sedan that offers lots of appealing features such as a commendable handling and power, a relatively affordable price, a fiery performance, a luxury-car status, and a coupe-like styling. But even with such a promising spec sheet, the new CLA-Class model gives up a bit in terms of the rear-seat space, transmission, and ride quality. Details regarding its price and release date has been shelved a bit for now, but credible sources in the know have offered us some bit of info as evidenced below.
2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Release Date & Price
Inasmuch as Mercedes is trying its best from having both release date and pricing details known this early, those in the know have good reports for some of us who find raw information exciting. The release date, for one, should be expected sometime in the spring of 2018. The price for the CLA250 4dr model is rumored to start from an MSRP of around $32,000.
There’s no denying the fact that the German marque is among the most respected in terms of elegant stylish designs, luxury, performance, and reliability. In fact it is hard for any other automaker to compete with it directly in terms of those aspects alone. The vehicle under review – the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class 2018 – just like the model it is replacing, continues to make affordability its defining hallmark.
The model was introduced three years by Mercedes, and touts an MSRP that starts from an ‘unbelievable’ $32,000. The 2018 CLA-Class model comes with an increment of around $2,000 over the debut model that was offered in the range of $30,000. Even despite the small price hike, the model has managed to weather the storm that has engulfed the segment. Fresher and newer models have continues to challenge its dominance in this class. Mercedes has however remained a standout model when it comes to the nameplate reliability and build quality, among a host of other features.
Beneath the hood, the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class comes with two engines: a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder and a more powerful version of the same. The CLA250 comes fitted with a 208-horsepower – generating turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that also cranks 258 lbs. ft. of torque. The more powerful version, in addition to the more power – 375 horsepower and 350 pounds-feet of torque – comes with a slew of fortified internal components.
For a car of such stature to achieve a lower base price, concessions are inevitable. The ride quality is potentially harsh, the throttle response sluggish and the transmission unrefined, the rear seat is cramped, and the rear visibility is limited. The “B” rated CLA-Class is still the only vehicle amongst its foes – 2018 Audi A3, BMW M235i, BMW 320i, and the Volkswagen GTI – that provides the prestige and style that comes with the prestige of owning a car with a tri-point star badge.

The CLA250 4Matic makes a distinction with its available all-wheel drive system.
