The new 2017 Jaguar F-Type continues to broaden its appeal thanks to the finely-crafted cabin, a new manual transmission system, stirring and occasional flamboyant performance, and an all-wheel drive options. Its release date should be expected sometime in the first half of 2017.
For 2017, Jaguar continues with its tradition of offering the F-Type with a lust-worthy blend of style, luxury and performance. The result is a thrilling and appealing driving dynamics that combine with a lustrous cabin to produce one of the most desirable car on the market today.
Mechanically, the new model offers a standard six-speed manual transmission system, as is the all-wheel drive system. The latter will definitely appease buyers who appreciate the added traction that comes handy in dry or wet conditions or for those who live in inclement weather climates, while the manual transmission will certainly be appealing to driving purists who look forward to a three-pedal setup.
The interesting bit about the suspension setup is that the system is able to send about 50% of the output to the front wheels for a more improved grip whenever hustling the F-Type on slippery surfaces or a curvy road. As for the output, Jaguar says, the R trim model should be able to provide a whopping 550 horsepower from its supercharged V8 engine in its hood.
You’ll realize that the F-Type means business once you enter both the convertible and coupe interior. There’s no mistaking them for anything but a sports car. They offer well-bolstered seats, racy stitching, central air vents, and top-notch materials. They’re calm on the highway apart from the occasional buffeting on gear changes.
Foibles do exist, nonetheless. They include a limited truck and passenger space, and lacking a rear-wheel drive option. Even so, these are overwhelmingly compensated by the innumerable features the F-Type offers, and shouldn’t be an excuse not to buy it. But for those who’d want to sample what the competition offers, there still exist some desirable in the segment. They include the Chevrolet Corvette, Porsche Boxster, and the Porsche 911.
