The Kia Optima for 2017 combines a strong value proposition and a sporty styling resulting in a vehicle that is hard to beat. Additionally, with plenty of luxury and convenience features, serene cabin, a superb blend of performance and fuel efficiency, it will definitely be on the priority list of anyone shopping in the midsize sedan segment. Its release date should be expected in March 2017.
The entry of the Optima in the market will be met with a fierce rivalry staged by known bigwigs such as 2017 Honda Accord, 2017 Toyota Camry, and Ford Fusion. And despite being in the segment for over fifteen years now, it only elevated itself recently from the lower bargain segment to a serious rival.
The Kia with its new looks and fresh appeal raises the bar a notch higher from the outgoing model that has helped shape its humble beginnings to a serious midsize vehicle. One notable thing that never changes in the Optima is its exterior design. Slightly taller, wider, and longer than its immediate predecessor but nothing much in terms of design and exterior cues. Although we expect new color additions to the existing color palette.
In order to notice the differences between the new and the outgoing model, you’ll need to either be hawk eyed or be a diehard Optima fan. The changes are subtle but are welcome nonetheless. The previous model offered was a success in the market and redesigning it significantly may result in unnecessary damages especially if buyers are still observing caution.
One thing is for sure though, the chassis comes with high-strength steel that underpins better high-speed stability, structural rigidity, and improved handling. There is nothing much to say when it comes to matters concerning under its hood as it carries over the previous engine entire lineup.
Even as we commend the efforts Kia has invested in the new 2017 Kia Optima, there are still some issues that could have been addressed better such as the numb steering and the limited rear headroom. As such, it would be wise to explore other options in the segment before ultimately making a decision. Some of its rivals include the stylish and fun-to drive 2017 Mazda 6, the well-appointed 2017 Toyota Camry, the refreshed and powerful 2017 Honda, and, last but certainly not least, is the well-rounded and closely-related cousin 2017 Hyundai Sonata.
Still the 2017 Kia Optima continues to offer the right mix of today’s elite sedans through its blend of value, performance and style.
