2018 Mitsubishi Pajero

Unfortunately for the people in the North American market the new 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero model is being issued. The Pajero is an SUV which is sold and offered in over 90 countries worldwide, but it has still not been made available in the North American market. Well this is then bad news for the people there but certainly something that the people in other markets are going to enjoy and appreciate.

This time the makers in Mitsubishi have decided to welcome us to a brand new Sports version of the car which is making its debut for the 2018 season. The 2018 Mitsubishi Sport is being build in Thailand and will be offered in all of the essential markets like China, Russia, India, Australia and so much more at its release date.

But do not let the addition of the word “Sport” into the name here fool you, as this is not your typical Evo-style update that we are used to seeing from European brands and their transformation into a sportier version. The name comes from the design style and there are many changes to the Sport version that does make it a pretty good and useful model compared to its base form.

The updates are very good and a lot of them have been aimed to enhance the comfort and make the car much more comfortable. They also made sure that there are clear distinction parts between the regular and the Sport version Pajeros. The 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero has still got a lot to go to reach the level of a BMW X5, but that said it still tries to do a great job and you can read all about the provided specs and performance rates in this review.

What they planned to do with the 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero is to make it much more modern looking. Even the base version was a little bit boxy looking so they needed to make it a little bit more angular and curvy, so actually sporty looking. The Sport version takes matters into its own hand by adding elements that certainly enhance this feature of the car. This gives the SUV a lot more grace and helps make the body a lot more car-like and less like your regular and standard utility car.

They actually manage to take some cues from the last Range Rover and Land Rover vehicles. Like those cars, the Pajero manages to go with a much more upscale look as it adds more chrome to the front fascia of the car. There are some accent lines that go throughout the whole length of the car as the taillights provide a transition towards the rear fascia part. The markets where the model is sold do not put a lot of effort in styling, so this model is going to be something different and something that is going to be likable to all of the fans.

The car does look pretty great on the outside, but it is the interior where the problems for the 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero start. It is a regular kind of a setup that we have expected to see, that is for sure, but it still feels and looks that there was a lot of cost cutting being done there. These is witnessed but a lot of cheap plastic surfaces added which does not give it an appealing appearance which may even be described as rather dull.

Some vehicles do a great job when making the interior cost effective and still manage to look great even with the downgraded materials. This is usually done when the budget is scarce to start with and we still do manage to come up with a regular and good looking car. Unfortunately, this one had the premise of an expensive car which was alter stripped down of all of its equipment and good looks and fancy materials leaving it bare and with the interior that we have now. The thing that it has going for it is the roominess as the car does have enough interior spacing and room to make you feel relaxed and comfortable for long trips.

Engine specs

The 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero has been announced with a 2.4-liter diesel engine under its hood. Sadly, the output specs have still yet to be provided and we shall give our best to find them out before the release date of the model. We do know that it uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and is also already ranked as the most fuel efficient Pajero made, with ratings that say a 17 percent improvement over the previous generation. They also offer a whole slew of features for both off-road and on-road productivity.

Release date and price

The newest 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero is going to come with a substantial price tag of around $60,000. It is a pricey car and may be less productive because of that compared to its rivals. Yet the price stands and will be the same at its respective markets. The car is going to make its debut by the end of this year and will start sales in all of the given markets around the world next year when the release date is set. There are no news about a North American version by this time.

The closest rivals that the model is going to face are the newest Lexus NX and Volvo XC90.
