The redesigned 2017 Volvo XC60 is among the best choices for a small luxury crossover SUV especially if you fancy interior room and safety. 2017 highlights include a generous cargo space, great crash test scores, a strong and efficient turbocharged four-cylinder engines, and supportive seats. Its release date should be expected mid-2017.
Automakers that produce family vehicles can tell you how hard it is to shake a reputation marred for being boring. But guess what! Volvo has finally cracked the code with its latest release – the 2017 XC60. Consumers now have a fine and inspiring alternative. The XC60 comes with a fresh styling and a well-appointed cabin, and sleek exterior looks just to name but a few.
It’s still drives and feels like a Volvo to its core though. The changes and upgrades forthcoming serve as a freshener to the already sensible luxury crossover SUV. Indeed, it boasts of top-crash tests scores, a comprehensive feature set, and lots of interior space. 6-footers will have no reason to ditch it for another option whatsoever.
Matters beneath its hood however remain unaltered, which is really a good thing although an upgrade would have worked even better. Solid EPA ratings of about 26 mpg should be expected for the base models. However, those who opt for the AWD XC60 will find the ratings rather mediocre since they don’t come with the same engines as the FWD Drive-E T5 and T6 models.
Shopping in the segment has never been this good. There are lots of alternatives to choose from. Formidable rivals include the spacious 2017 Acura RDX, the engaging 2017 BMW X3, and the stylish 2017 Audi Q5. Others include the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, and the 2017 Lexus Nx 200t.
Even in the face of such unforgiving competition, we still think the XC60 is an appealing choice especially if you’ve longed for a family-friendly luxury vehicle with strong safety credentials and some Swedish flare to toggle along with.
