2017 Kia Rio

True, the new 2017 Kia Rio might lack the refinement of some of its class-leading rivals, however, it’s a solid pick for anyone shopping in the subcompact sedan and hatchback segment thanks to its stylish interior and exterior, strong acceleration, high-quality interior materials, spacious seating arrangement, and ample standard and optional features. The Kia Rio release date should be expected sometime in early 2017.

Last Minute Redesign

With its last redesign done four years ago, the Kia Rio was rather dated by conventional standards, especially considering the number of fresher and newer rivals nipping its heels at every turn. However, the new redesign brings a number of changes such as the new exterior and interior designs. Despite the superficial changes, the Kia Rio remains true to its roots.

Bigger In Size

The front and rear fascias have been refined a bit and appear more chiseled on the sides. It is handsome inside and out just like its history can attest to. It however manages to avoid the awkward proportions that some vehicles in its class are coming with. Its interior is also noteworthy – it comes with ample space even for the backseat occupants. The trunk is similarly spaced.

Lots of fine technologies have also been offered, and despite the base model’s appearing rather Spartan, the top-of-the-line models are chock full of creature comforts and a respectable roster of technologies to match their position.

In terms of performance, no changes have been announced this far. Therefore, we should expect to see every 2017 Kia Rio to come with a 138-horsepower – generating four-cylinder engine. Fuel economy remains laudable at 31 mpg, but a majority of its competition easily surpass it. Downsides include a mediocre suspension refinement and handling.

Competition available includes vehicles such as the Honda Fit, Scion iA, Ford Fiesta, and the Chevrolet Sonic.
