Granted the excellence of its competitors, there is little to reason to consider the 2017 Jeep Compass, however, the Compass still manages to impress with its comfortable and supportive front seats, a rock-bottom price, impressive off-road performance, and optional flip-down tailgate speakers. The Jeep Compass release date should be expected sometime in the first half of 2017.
Despite obvious shortcomings such as a sluggish and unrefined base engine, a chintzy cabin, poor crash-tests, modest cargo space, an unpleasant Continuous Variable Transmission system, and an unsophisticated ride quality, the Compass continues to be steady seller, just like the Patriot – cheap-Jeep sibling.
Its success in its segment despite the cons above is partly because of the enduring appeal of the Jeep name and the stylish Grand Cherokee looks. Inasmuch as Jeep has tried to invigorate the Compass, the fact that it feels dated and largely subpar can’t be entirely ruled out.
On the upside, though, the Compass offers impressive off-road performance particularly if you opt for the Freedom II off-road package. But even so, you will have to contend with a generally unpleasant and power-sapping CVT. The Compass also offers a six-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission system.
Its rivals may be more expensive, but there exists good reason for that. They’re worth every buck! Some of its competitors include the 2017 Mazda CX-5, 2017 Ford Escape, Jeep’s own 2017 Cherokee, and the 2017 Hyundai Tucson.
