2017 Lincoln MKX

With the output of new luxury models comes the 2017 Lincoln MKX model as well. The parent company of Lincoln, Ford, has decided to triple their output of cars which is going to take its full affect till 2020. This being the long-term goal, there is also the long-term one which is already taking affect with the release of Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKC for the Chinese market. The next step is launching the MKX with its release date already set for the given Chinese market now.

The MKX actually made its US debut with a concept model back in 2014. Fans were able to get a glimpse of what the model was going to look like with the release of the concept version which pretty much seemed like a track ready vehicle. The Beijing Auto Show was the first place where the concept was introduced for the public where it immediately got the attention of the Chinese public. The US release is scheduled for the Detroit Auto Show where the American crowd is going to see the US market version for the first time.

The Lincoln MKX 2017 is going to be a stellar crossover vehicle which is going to be just in the alley of what Lincoln has produced over the years with its models. But the nameplate was actually in a dire need for a makeover for many years now, particularly after the poor sales of the 2013 and 2014 version which did not achieve the expected numbers. Being that the release date of the car is pretty soon we made this review in order to bring you all the specs and the necessary price ratings.

As is the case with many recent Lincoln models, so will the 2017 Lincoln MKX take a significant departure from its regular and standard way of exterior designing. With a brand new corporate look, the MKX has received a very nice update. It adds a split wing grille design, a far more elegant profile and  blade-like headlamps. The previous generations had a very boxy appearance which was not that fun for the model, but the new 2017 MKX version has a more balanced look which is more appropriate for this occasion.

But the car can also be described as much more sportier and has a far better dynamic look to it. With a sloping roof design,  wraparound taillights, muscular rear fenders,  revised rear apron and a rectangularly shaped rear exhaust, the Lincoln MKX 2017 has a very spectacular look which is going to be liked by many. The majority of the features were first seen on the MKX Concept car which was released first and have made its way to the design of this car.

The interior of the 2017 Lincoln MKX adopts some design cues which are familiar to all of the contemporary models that have come out of Lincoln designs. The old look has been scraped completely and they are going for a new type and a modern look which will be a nice change for the brand. The model has been updated with some refined surfaces, updated safety and technology features  and of course soft leather materials. All of this makes the model a luxury standout.

There are various surfaces covered in high-grade leather and if they do not include these, they are either made from wood or metal. The power seats in the front part include 22 directions of adjustment and there is also a premium Revel audio system, which tops the option list for the MKX.

But, as you will see at the release date, the list of standard features is also very impressive. It includes a 360-degree camera system,  pre-collision assist, automatic parallel and perpendicular parking, and cross-traffic alert. But the down side is that most of the changes made are actually only a facelift for the MKX as the overall layout of the dash of the model is still heavily based on the Ford Fusion design.

Engine specs

Under the hood, the 2017 Lincoln MKX offers a choice of two different engine options. You can choose between a 3.7-liter V-6, rated at 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, or a 2.7-liter, EcoBoost V-6, that makes 330 horsepower and 370 pound-feet. Both are combined with a six-speed automatic transmission and you also get a choice of choosing and adding an all-wheel drive option as well. There is not a big difference between these two engines in fact and most of the fans are going to go for the secondary option. Being that the difference is not that great it is going to be much better money wise if you think about it. Also this is the engine that is fitted inside the 2017 Cadillac SRX  car as well.

Price and release date

The model is starting its sales this year in the Chinese market while the release date in America is scheduled for next year. The 2017 Lincoln MKX is going to be available in US since April and the starting price is going to be a little bit larger than the previous one which was $38,900, so expect it to be at around  $40,000 this time. The closest competing vehicles which appear in the market now are the Cadillac SRX and the Lexus RX models.
